Is it possible to hide htaccess files within FTP?

Dependent on the type of FTP client you are using, you might/might not be able to hide the "dot files" from being displayed within your web hosting account. This feature is solely reliant on the FTP client that you are using.

However, if you do wish to hide the "dot files", you should be able to use the file manager within cPanel, as it does support this feature. To get access to cPanel’s file manager, please follow the steps outlined below:

  • Login to your web hosting account using cPanel/WHM
  • Navigate to the section called "Files"
  • Once there, click on the "File Manager" icon
  • Make the necessary adjustments based upon your viewing preference

If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in contact with your web hosting support team for further assistance.
