I have some files set to 755, is that ok?

When it comes to security, there is nothing more important than file/folder permissions. Having said that, the permission level of 755 is fine, and will not cause any server or account security problems within your web hosting account.

Having said that, we do take additional security by setting the permission levels of the /public_html/ to only where your username can read its contents.
