How do I login via FTP without pointing my domain name?

While we do strongly suggest that all our customers point the domain names at our name servers, there are alterative methods of getting connected to your web hosting account without having to use your domain name. Below, we outline both methods:

Connecting via IP Address:

This is the method of using your servers IP address to get connected to your web hosting account instead of your domain name. If you are unsure of what your IP address is, you may find it by follow the below-mentioned instructions:

• Login to your web hosting account via cPanel
• Locate the "Status" section on the left hand side menu
• Within the "Stats" section find "Dedicated IP Address"

The number that you find there can be used instead of your domain name when connecting to your web hosting account.

Connecting via hostname:

Alternatively, the other way to get connected to your server is by using the server’s hostname. To do this, please get in contact with our web hosting support team so they can assist you in obtaining the hostname of the server that your on.
