The process of adding an FTP account within your web hosting account is pretty rudimentary. Additional FTP accounts are added generally to provide multiple users with the ability to access a certain set of files/folders without having the main cPanel login information. To do this, please follow the step-by-step process outlined below:
- Login to your web hosting account via cPanel
- Locate the section within cPanel called "Files"
- Once located, please click on the "FTP Accounts" icon
- Fill in all the fields outlined within this section
- Once ready, please click on "Create FTP Account"
Once created, the new user will be able to login to their FTP hosting account. Please note that the login username will be slightly different; please see the format in which the username will need to be used below:
- Username: your-username@the-domain.com
- Password: ** Your Password **
