Impossible to install - 2005-03-30

I must disagree with the other review. This product is impossible to install. It wants you to start with a clean barebones Redhat install (but doesn't tell you what options you need) and then installs itself on top. If anything goes wrong in the install, you'll need to contact their Tech Support because the Installation docs are non-existent (2 pages).

We never did get it installed because it also insited on being our DNS server. At that point we threw in the towel.

They do offer it to non-profits at thirty bucks, but I don't know a non-profit with enough technical expertise to install this thing.

I've down loaded three different control panels for Linux. Cpanel was the only one I could get working. It was easy to install and started workng perfectly from the start.
It would be my first choice if the price was more reasonable.
$1200 is about $1100 more than I'm willing to spend for a little home project like mine.

If you would like cPanel to do your installation for you and you have obtained a license, you may request an installation at http://support.cpanel.net/. Make sure to provide your IP, the root pass of your server, and the operating system installed on the server. Thay do not charge for installations.
